Our Story
Palaweño Brewery is Ayah Javier’s brainchild. The founder, Ayah, lived in San Diego, California U.S.A. for some time when the craft beer craze hit her area. Back then, she was oblivious of this thing they call "craft beer" until a friend introduced her to it. She became an instant convert. In 2012, she came home to the Philippines with a brilliant idea and a homebrewer's kit in tow. She said, "this would definitely be a welcome change for the Philippines".
Ayah and Malu (co-founder) started with the homebrewer's kit in their modest kitchen. From time to time, they would throw "Ayahay Night" parties for friends to try their new brews. These “Ayahay Night” parties became an instant hit to both locals and tourists who travel to Palawan.
From the homebrewer's kit, Palaweño Brewery was born. Todate, we brew all-grain and still keep things traditional by meticulously choosing each and every all-natural ingredients, making sure that each bottle is carefully brewed with love. Each style’s recipe is unique to Palaweño Brewery.
We are honored and humbled at the same time to have been featured on various international and local platforms, to name a few: CNN International, BBC Earth, The Guardian, Philippine Airlines, Air Asia, Cebu Pacific, and more. Aside from that, we are lucky to have been included in "The Ultimate Guide to the World's Best Craft Beers" List by American Express, Germany. It's no walk in the park, and we love every second of it! That thing called "PASSION" is what drives us to provide you these exceptional brews. It is our mission to provide the best craft beers we could, all for the love of it!
